Remember that game? If you don’t it was basically a clapping game we used to play on the playground. The categories ranged from names to tv shows to cities. Whoever said something that had been said before would lose. Pretty simple game. I took this throwback game and applied to to the year 2014. I did not want to repeat a single thing. No same restaurants, travel destinations or bars. When you live in New York City this is actually very easy.
First weekend in NYC and we hit Superbowl Blvd and a 70 ft slide in the middle of Times Sq. Perfect way to be welcomed into NYC.
ready for take off
Clearly my favorite category, this was the best category to have a no repeat rule. I traveled to Australia, Boston and Thailand this year. Click either country to read my blog posts about the trips. Australia was full of hugging mammals including koalas and kangaroos and swimming with nemo and squirt in the Great Barrier reef. In Boston we caught the Boston Calling festival and ate every type of Italian food possible in the North end. Finally I ended the year in Thailand. From lagoons to the ocean floor we explored. I ate pad thai for a $1 and rode an elephant. Needless to say it was awesome.
Australia: February 2014
Boston: May 2014

2014 brought a change of jobs for me. Now working for the NY Mets I found myself with plenty of baseball tickets and no loss of friends coming to sit outside, enjoy the sun and watch some baseball. I went to more baseball games this year than I thought humanly possible. #lgm

What’s NYC without the theater district? Broadway is always inviting with the $13 small glasses of wine and tiny seats that seem to be in theaters as old as the ’40s. This year I was able to see 4 plays: The Book of Mormon, Of Mice and Men, Les Miserables, and Motown the Musical. The perfect range of emotions from side splitting laughter, constant swooning at James Franco, tears to Jean Valjean and finally dancing in my seat to Diana Ross.
how are you doing NYC?
